This is probably the \nbest 1973 or 74 recording I have ever heard. It is also a very \ncomplete recording with just 2 small cuts in songs and with most \nof the btwn song tuning intact as well.\n\nAUD1 (ShnID = 15537)\nA terrific AUD recording by the master. Jerry Moore nails it again \nwith a great document of a 1974 dead show. This is exactly the type \nof recording you want to mix with a SBD to combine forces and make \nthe whole greater than the sum of the parts. Also much of the btwn\nsong tuning is intact and the combination of these 2 sources probably\nis every second of this show from start to finish. Including btwn\nsong tuning plus long intro and outro material. The whole enchilada.\n\n---------------------------------------------------------\n\nTech Notes\n\nFLAC/SHNs decoded and Wavemerge was used to reassemble the entire\nshow back to 1 long wave. CEP2.0 was used to align & synch both\nof the sources. CEP2.0 was used for the multitrack mixdown.\nThis is a 65% SBD, 35% AUD1 mix. \n- Mixed by dan@am-dig.com\n- FLAC conversion 10-JAN-2008 \n- Artwork by dan@am-dig.com 300dpi - For best results\nprint at the highest resolution onto glossy photo paper.\nDesign for use with a clear slim double CD case.\n- Special thanks to unknown photographers for the images used \nfor this artwork.\n\n---------------------------------------------------------\n\nMultitrack Mixdown Settings\n\nStereo Matrix\t\t\t\nSBD -1.5db\t\nAUD -7db\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\n---------------------------------------------------------\n\nNotes\n\nd1t01 \"Intro\" this is comprised mostly of the AUD source and then\ncrossfades before the first song starts.\n\nd1t02 \"Don't Ease\" the mix is all over the place for the first 1\nminute. Mixing with the AUD has helped but not fixed this problem.\n\nd1t08 \"Cumberland Blues\" the SBD was missing approx 30 seconds.\nThis section is comprise of just the AUD source. The AUD source \nwas EQ'd and levels adjusted to better blend with the sound of\nthe SBD. Crossfades applied to each end of the patch.\n\nd2t04 \"Intro\" this is comprised mostly of the AUD source and then\ncrossfades before the first song of the second set starts.\n\nd3t03 \"Eyes Of The World\" the SBD was missing approx 30 seconds.\nThis section is comprise of just the AUD source. The AUD source \nwas EQ'd and levels adjusted to better blend with the sound of\nthe SBD. Crossfades applied to each end of the patch.\n\n---------------------------------------------------------\n\nNotes on the Sound Samples\n\nSample_1\n\nThis is 15 second segments of the AUD, then the matrix and then\nthe SBD (.15 AUD, .15 MTX, .15 SBD - in that order). Just to give \nyou listen of all 3 versions. Note the subtle changes in sound \nover the straight SBD. The extra warmth and lingering notes from \nthe guitar and the additional \"thump\" to the bass.\n\nSample_2\n\nThis sample gives you a quick A/B comparison to the straight\nSBD. You'll hear a 15 second clip of the MTX followed by a\n15 second clip of the SBD. 15 seconds MTX, 15 seconds SBD\nand so on. This quiet portion and allows for a bit more of \nthe AUD to get into the mix. \n\nAgain, this clip was used b/c the sound difference is the more \napparent during this particular portion. The majority of the \nrecording you will only hear more subtle sound differences btwn \nthe SBD and the Matrix. The difference in tone and the overall \n\"size\" of the recording being the most noticeable differences \nto the SBD source. This is even more obvious on the 5.1 \nsurround sound versions.\n\nSample_3\n\nHere is the AUD patch in Cumberland Blues. The AUD for this\nportion underwent quite a bit of DSP to try and make the source \ntransition as minimally jarring as possible. D'EQing, dynamic \ncompression and level adjustment as well long in/out crossfades.\n\nSample_4\n\nHere is the AUD patch in Eyes Of The World. The AUD for this\nportion underwent quite a bit of DSP to try and make the source \ntransition as minimally jarring as possible. D'EQing, dynamic \ncompression and level adjustment as well long in/out crossfades.\n\nSample_5.1\n\nThis is a sample of what to expect in the 6 different channels \nused to make the 5.1 surround sound. First you get 15 seconds\nof the front left/right channels, then 15 seconds of the center\nchannel, then 15 seconds of the subwoofer/LFE channel and then\n15 seconds of the rear left/right channels. (The front and rear \nare stereo in a 5.1 mix - usually the center and sub are mono \nbut for this sample they are 2 channel mono.)",

"notes": "Comments:\n\n- \"Truckin'\" includes a \"Nobody's Fault But Mine Jam\"\n\n\nNotes:\n\n- Pitch correction\n- This was early in Jimmy's career as a taper, only his second show. See the tapebox pic enclosed with Jimmy's \"self portrait.\" He was friends with Barry Glassberg and they later decided that their masters would be better preserved if they transferred them from cassettes to reels. On this occasion when he transfered it from the cassette masters to reel he put in fades at the start and end of each song, a number of them because the songs were clipped. I have restored the fades by patching in from shnid 106027 which needed to be pitch adjusted. I also made azimuth and phase adjustments. - Thank you Jerry Moore and Rob Berger.\n\n- Some of the patches are for continuity purposes, some are to replace some other small problems* . Apart from the clipping mentioned there are also some patches to cover where larger sections of music are missing as follows:-\n\nDon't Ease Me\nGreatest Story Ever Told - first 7.5 seconds,\nI Know You Rider\nTruckin'\nStella Blue\n\n- Jimmy says that most of the problems were caused by Sonny Heard as he had cut the mic cable a couple of days before. He fixed the cable as well as he could but it gave intermittent problems.*\n\n\nDespite the problems that this source started out with it does sound very good.\n\n\nThanks to Jimmy Warburton for lending us his reels.\n\nThanks to Matt Smith for the transfer.\n\nThanks to Joe B. Jones for his help with pitch correction.\n\n\nedited and mastered\nSIRMick\nOctober 2018",

The whole enchilada.\n\n---------------------------------------------------------\n\nTech Notes\n\nFLAC/SHNs were decoded to wave. Wavmerge was used to reassemble \nthe tracks back to 1 long wave. CEP2.0 was used to align & \nsynch both of the sources. SF8.0 was used for the EQ setting \nfor the CTR and LFE channels. Surcode CD Pro DTS was used to \nencode to DTS. \n- Mixed by dan@am-dig.com\n- FLAC conversion 10-JAN-2009 \n- Artwork by dan@am-dig.com 300dpi - For best results\nprint at the highest resolution onto glossy photo paper.\nDesign for use with a clear slim double CD case.\n- Special thanks to unknown photographers for the images used \nfor this artwork.\n\n---------------------------------------------------------\n\nDTS-Audio-CD Info\n\nFront \nLeft Channel SBD \nRight Channel SBD \n\nCenter \nMono Mix -5db SBD DEQ'd \n\nSurround \nLeft Channel AUD \nRight Channel AUD\n\nSub/LFE \nMono Mix -5db SBD DEQ'd \n\n--------------------------------------------------------\n\nNotes\n\nd1t01 \"Intro\" this is comprised mostly of the AUD source and then\ncrossfades before the first song starts.\n\nd1t02 \"Don't Ease\" the mix is all over the place for the first 1\nminute. Crossfades applied to each end of the patch.\n\nd3t09 \"Oturo\" A crossfades after the last song start and the is \ncomprised mostly of the AUD source.\n\n---------------------------------------------------------\n\nNotes on the Sound Samples\n\nSample_1\n\nThis is 15 second segments of the AUD, then the matrix and then\nthe SBD (.15 AUD, .15 MTX, .15 SBD - in that order). (The front and rear \nare stereo in a 5.1 mix - usually the center and sub are mono \nbut for this sample they are 2 channel mono.)\n\n---------------------------------------------------------\n\nLineup\n\nJerry Garcia (guitar, vocals)\nBob Weir (guitar, vocals)\nPhil Lesh (bass)\nKeith Godchaux (keyboards, vocals)\nBill Kreutzmann (drums, percussion)\nDonna Jean Godchaux (annoying backup vocals)\n\n---------------------------------------------------------\n\nMore On DTS\n\nToday's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound\nlike DTS, Dolby Digital and DVD-Audio. While the Audio-CD \nstandard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new \nsound formats, it is still possible to go around the \nspecification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a \nregular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect \nyour DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) \nto your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that \nyour receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio-CD, so the first \ntime you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do \na test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very \nlow, start the disc and rise the volume gradually. NEVER \nlisten to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analogue audio outputs \nof your CD/DVD player.\n\nBurning Instructions\nBurn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal \nAudio-CD from FLAC files.\n\n---------------------------------------------------------\n\n\nAdditional Formats\n\nThis show is available in the following formats:\n\n1. The SBD and AUD sources listed above.\n2. CD-Audio SBD+AUD Matrix Mix at 16/44 \n3. CD-Audio 5.1 Surround Sound DTS-Audio-CD at 16/44 \n4. DVD-Audio SBD+AUD Matrix Mix at 24/48\n5. DVD-Audio 5.1 Surround Sound at 16/44 \n (6 Channels of 16/44 - MLP Encoded)",
