      "notes": "In preparaton of circulating this source, I asked Jim to help differtiate this source from \nChalie Miller's release of Steve Rolfe's recording.\nHis reply follws:\n\nSteve Rolfe and I taped that show together, my deck (Sony tcd-5) was patched out of Steve's D5, \nsame signal but two separate cassette masters... \n\nThe reason this is different from Charlie Miller's release of Steve Rolfe's recording is because \nit's my master, not Steve's master. The main differance is that Charlie Miller did not decode the \ndolby properly (both mine and Steves masters were dolby B encoded). If you listen to the Miller \ntransfer of the Rolfe master, you'll hear the artificially equalized shrilly high end that's typical \nwhen you leave the dolby switch in the \"off\" position of a tape that was originally dolby encoded.\n \nDavid Minches did mine with a tweaked Nak Dragon and properly decoded the dolby on playback ... \nIf you playback this Minches transfer and adjust the high end to be boosted a bit, you'll experience \na much more natural sounding recording ... especially on higher end gear. That's the whole point \nof having David remaster my work in 24/96 ...our Idea is to allow the end user to enjoy the sound and \nadjust the tonal balance according to his, or her own preference, rather then have someone else \nmake those decisions for you during pre-production.\nJim Wise 2/23/2014",

This is an excellent \nFOB recording, however specifics on the mics and deck used by John Hance are not \navailable. \n\nKnown Flaws:\n-There is significant dead air between many non-sequential tracks. Tracks \n were cut in the middle of these segments causing the dead spaces to end one track and \n begin the next.\n-In several places the recorder was abrubtly paused between tracks, no music was lost.\n-After the first few notes of Little Red Rooster the recorder was briefly paused,\n a couple of seconds of music are lost.\n-There is a brief cut in the transition between Shakedown Street and Lost Sailor.\n-The very ending of Uncle John's Band is faded out.\n-Several minutes of Drums is missing.\n\nTagging notes:\nShow information is embedded within the header of each flac file. \nIt will display on any player capable of directly playing flac files. \nIf converted to wav during processing, all tags will be stripped, \nhowever audio data will remain unaffected. \nIf you must transcode to a lossy format, do so directly Flac > Lossy.\nUse ffp to validate audio integrity.\nMd5 values will change if tagging is altered.\nB.
