"notes": "Applause sections on the audience recording were shortened to remove the hurricane of noise between songs.\nThe soundboard section came already edited during these segments.\n\nSoundboard source was from 3 trade CDR's sent to me many years ago.\nI did some work on it to clean up any defects including small dropouts and loud pops/tics.\nThe Grateful Dead \"alone\" is now available on the \"One From The Vault\" series so the Dead's set is omitted here.\n\nLeaving this Bob Dylan set with the Grateful Dead backing him unreleased.\nThe soundboard cuts off as \"Ballad Of A Thin Man\" started so I have spliced on my audience recording to complete the show.\nNot a super recording as my levels were a bit too high for a couple songs so there is some distortion and although not painful it is there.\n\nPhil really overpowered my levels and \"Gotta Serve Somebody\" got the worst of it.\nAlthough you see professional microphones as the source they were a bitch to use with the long cables in that aggressive crowd.\nPrefer to record with a microphone spread of 5-10 feet but that was not going to happen this time.\nSome friends tried to run a block to keep people from tangling themselves in those cables as they were pushing their way to the front.\nWe were somewhat close (maybe 100-150 feet) and the crowd was so tight it was difficult to be trying to do anything much less be able to monitor levels.\nAs soon as Bob came on the crowd became like a herd of Elephants running up our backs and it pushed us much closer to the stage.\nBy the end of the show we were about 50 feet closer to the stage and I was worn out from holding both microphones and the tape deck.\n\nThe microphones did get pulled out after \"Ballad Of A Thin Man\".\nFixed that but missed the first 1 1/2 seconds of \"Rainy Day Women 12 & 35\" so a clip was patched in from a couple nights earlier in Oakland to create a simulated start.\nThis is where the levels got bumped up somehow.\nBy \"All Along The Watchtower\" my recording levels are back to being correct.\nFor the encore Bob stands back and plays rhythm guitar during \"Touch Of Grey\" but returns to the microphone for \"Knockin On Heavens Door\".\n\nThe applause between songs was just spliced out for the most part to remove all the shuffling and screaming sounds.\nA herculean effort was applied to the music to reduce the audience noises and it helped a lot as you will hear (or not hear actually).\nThe last few seconds of \"Knockiní On Heavenís Door\" is without the clapping removed and gives you an idea how loud the crowd was.\n\nAnyhow I didn't get the results I hoped for on this recording but it still sounds pretty good and completes the show.\nAnd there is always the first disc which is a beautiful soundboard recording.\n\nSource:\nThe soundboard segment was from a trade many years ago and no lineage information is available\n\nFor historical reference only and not intended for resale or any commercial use.\nenjoy\n-M- (April 2017)\nA FLYING M PRODUCTION\n\nSUPPORT THE ARTISTS AND THE VENUES THAT HOST LIVE MUSIC.",
